Arthur takes ghost-hunting contracts. A haunting is reported at a lonely cabin, shack or homestead and marked on your map with a white cross. Ride out, wait for nightfall, pull out Phasmophobia's tools, gather evidence and name the ghost before it hunts you.
What you get
- Ghost contracts at 18 real places in Red Dead's world, from Willard's Rest to Compson's Stead.
- Night work only: ghosts only show themselves between 9 PM and 5 AM. Get there by day and press F5 to wait until 10 PM.
- Phasmophobia's ghosts and evidence: 30 ghost types, each with its real three pieces of evidence, read from your own copy of Phasmophobia.
- Phasmophobia's tools (F5): EMF Reader, Spirit Box, Thermometer, Ghost Writing Book (F8 puts it down) and a UV Lantern. Some ghosts also show Ghost Orbs or a D.O.T.S. silhouette.
- The journal (F7): mark evidence, the ghost list narrows, then name your ghost. Name the right one and you're paid in cash. Name the wrong one and it hunts you.
- Sanity and hunts: your sanity drains near the haunted house, faster inside it. When it's low enough, the ghost hunts Arthur through the house as a flickering figure. If it touches you, you die. It's bound to its house: get outside and it can't follow.
- Phasmophobia's real sounds: spirit box voices, whispers, hunting breaths, banshee screams and the EMF beeps, all played in 3D from your own install. Nothing from either game is copied.
Good to know
- Story mode only. It switches itself off in Red Dead Online.
- Pauses during story missions and cutscenes. F10 pauses ghost hunting.
- Single player. Needs Red Dead Redemption 2 (1.0.1491.50) and Phasmophobia installed.
