The Freakers have reached San Andreas. Days Gone's survival rules come to GTA V's Story Mode.
Freaker packs and full hordes hunt you across Los Santos and Blaine County, more often at night. Hordes bring Days Gone's real horde music and roar.
Deacon St. John talks you through it in his own voice, with subtitles: low fuel, scrap, repairs, hordes, being overrun.
Your Drifter bike and real fuel: every bike and car burns gas. Refuel at gas stations (hold E), scavenge parked cars for scrap, gas cans and ammo, repair with scrap.
The Drifter menu (F9, or hold D-pad right): summon a fresh bike, upgrade its tank, engine, handling and nitro, craft molotovs, pipe bombs and med kits, find gas, set the difficulty (Easy to Nightmare) or call a horde.
New in 0.3.0: more ways to earn scrap
Every 15 freakers you kill earns 1 scrap (10 on Easy, 20 on Hard, 30 on Nightmare), with a kill counter on the HUD.
14 hidden scrap stashes are scattered across the map, from Grove Street to the top of Mount Chiliad. No map icons: Deacon speaks up when you're close and an orange glint marks the crate. Hold E to search one for 3 to 10 scrap.
Single player, Story Mode only. Needs GTA V Legacy 1.0.3889.0 and Days Gone installed: Deacon's voice and the horde music are read from your own copy of Days Gone. F10 pauses the outbreak.
