MINECRAFT X LEFT4DEAD2
A solo Minecraft Java 1.21.10 survival encounter with the L4D2 crew names, a first infected wave, L4D2-inspired weapon names, and a Tank escalation. The PowerShell audio bridge reads and plays sound files directly from the player's Left 4 Dead 2 installation when Minecraft writes the matching event marker. No L4D2 files are included or copied out.
deadblock folder into the chosen world's datapacks folder.Run PowerShell with these values (replace paths if your game folders differ):
$env:L4D2_GAME_PATH = 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2'
$env:MC_INSTANCE_PATH = "$env:APPDATA\.minecraft"
powershell.exe -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\Bridge.ps1
The bridge watches logs\latest.log for gameplay events and streams matching sounds from the installed game. Keep the bridge running while you play.
This prototype uses Minecraft's vanilla wolf, zombie, spider, creeper, skeleton, ravager, bow, crossbow, and trident assets as stand-ins. It does not contain L4D2 character models, infected models, or firearms. The audio bridge was exercised against a real L4D2 sound and a simulated Minecraft log event. The datapack has not yet been launched in Minecraft or captured in-game; it is not ready for a Melty release.
