Dashcraft puts Geometry Dash inside Minecraft: Java Edition. Your Minecraft character is dropped into a real Geometry Dash level, viewed from the side, and runs it on its own while you only jump.
What you get
Your own copy of Geometry Dash does the work. Dashcraft finds your Geometry Dash folder and reads Resources/levels/1.txt ... 21.txt at runtime, decodes the level data and builds it as a Minecraft course. One Geometry Dash cell = one block. All 21 main levels.
Side-on, auto-running. The camera snaps to a Geometry Dash angle, your character faces down the course and runs at Geometry Dash's speed. You only control jumps: mouse look is locked so you cannot drift off the course.
Spikes, blocks and portals. Red concrete is a spike and kills you, grey concrete is a solid block, the black concrete strip is the ground. Blue glass portals put you in the ship (hold jump to rise, shift to sink); lime glass portals put you back on your feet.
The level's own song, streamed from your Geometry Dash install and restarted on every death, Geometry Dash's own explode_11.ogg crash sound, and the level name, percent and attempt count in a boss bar.
Instant retries. Crash and you are back at the portal in the same tick, your attempt count going up.
How to play
Press Play in Melty. Melty installs Fabric and Minecraft 1.21.1 and tells Dashcraft where Geometry Dash is.
In any world, type /dash to list your levels, then /dash 1 (or click a level in chat).
You go through a portal into the course and the run starts. /dash stop returns you exactly where you were.
The course is built in its own empty dimension, so it never touches your world.
Requirements
Minecraft: Java Edition 1.21.1 with Fabric (Melty sets this up, no Java or launcher needed from you).
Geometry Dash installed through Steam: Dashcraft needs it for the levels, music and crash sound, and reads them from your own copy.
Nothing from Geometry Dash is copied into the mod or into this release.
Credits
Mod by Melty. Fabric API (Apache-2.0) ships with the release. JLayer and JOrbis (LGPL-2.1) decode the game's MP3 and OGG files and are bundled with credit. Minecraft: Java Edition is Mojang Studios'; Geometry Dash is RobTop Games'. This is a fan-made mashup of the two games you own.
