Cuphead vs. Zombies

Dr. Zomboss takes Grim Matchstick's place in Fiery Frolic and fights Cuphead on Plants vs. Zombies' night roof in his Zombot, to PvZ's own Brainiac Maniac.

Everything from Plants vs. Zombies is read live from your own copy of PvZ: Game of the Year: the Zombot and Dr. Zomboss animations, the zombies, the roof, the sounds and the music. Nothing from either game is included in the download.

The fight

• His real PvZ moves, Cuphead-hard. He mixes a random run of attacks with his head up: dropping zombies that walk at you (Basic, Conehead, Buckethead, Imp), stomping a shockwave across the roof, slamming his RV onto your spot, and lowering three Bungee Zombies that grab at whoever stands under their target.
• Then his head comes down. He looms bigger and spits rolling fireballs and iceballs. His head is where you hurt him.
• Three phases, following PvZ's own damage stages: the clean Zombot, the dented Zombot, then the cracked, smoking Zombot.
• Phase 2: a Catapult Zombie lobs bouncing basketballs at you.
• Phase 3: a Gargantuar smashes shockwaves along the roof and throws its Imp at half health.
• Pink cones: some Coneheads wear a pink cone. Parry it to knock it off and fill your Super meter.
• Cuphead's own kit: your weapons, charms, EX, Supers and parry, plus Cuphead's health bar, death card (with a PvZ-style Dr. Zomboss portrait) and KNOCKOUT.
• Solo or same-PC co-op: Mugman joins on a second controller with Cuphead's own co-op. There's no online play.

How to play

• Press Play: Cuphead starts straight in the fight on Regular. Your save isn't written during it, and leaving takes you back to the title screen.
• On the title or save-select screen: press F5 to fight him right away.
• In your own game: Fiery Frolic on Inkwell Isle Two is now Dr. Zomboss's fight.

• Cuphead (Windows, Steam).
• Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year (Windows, Steam), installed.
