Forager, but the Constant has moved in. You play Forager as one of Don't Starve Together's survivors, the year turns through DST's four seasons, and each season sends its giant after you.
Everything of Don't Starve Together's is read from your own installed copy when you press Play: the hand-drawn survivors and giants, their names and lines, the numbers the rules run on, the roars, voices and music. Nothing of either game is in the download.
What you get
Pick your survivor when you load a save: Wilson, Willow, Wolfgang or Wendy, drawn from DST's own animations in place of the Forager character, with their real titles, quotes and voices.
Wilson's beard keeps the cold out.
Willow shrugs off the summer heat and freezes twice as fast.
Wolfgang turns mighty on a full energy bar (double damage to giants) and wimpy on an empty one.
Wendy brings her ghostly twin Abigail, who haunts any giant that gets close.
Seasons on DST's calendar: 20 days of autumn, 15 of winter, 20 of spring, 15 of summer (a year is about 14 minutes).
Winter: it snows and your body temperature drops. Stay by a furnace, forge or cookpot or you start losing hearts.
Spring: it rains. Out in the open you get soaked and tire faster; your buildings keep you dry.
Summer: you overheat. Cool off at the water's edge.
Seasonal giants, late in each season: Deerclops in winter, Moose/Goose in spring, Antlion in summer (it stays put and throws sand spikes), and Bearger from your second autumn on. They take as many hits as they would from a spear in DST, scaled to a fight of about a minute. Hit them with your pickaxe or sword and step back when they wind up.
Their DST loot as real Forager items: Thick Fur, Deerclops Eyeball (edible), Down Feathers, Desert Stones.
DST's sound: giants roar in the distance before they arrive, your survivor speaks, and DST's fight music plays while a giant is alive.
Good to know
Solo, like Forager itself.
The first Play takes a few seconds longer while the art is drawn from your DST; it is redone only when DST updates.
Works on existing saves. If you later play one of those saves without the mashup, Forager will ask before loading it, as it does for any modded save.
Giants are only hurt by melee swings (and by Abigail) in this version.
Giants are dangerous to a three-heart newcomer, as they are in Don't Starve. They leave when their season ends.
