Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles join Mario 64's co-op adventure.
Play Chaos Coop 64: Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles join the native characters in the levels of Super Mario 64 Coop DX for co-op play. You can also explore solo.
Switch characters individually, mix both crews in the same level, and use spindash, air dash, flight, gliding, and climbing. Coins become rings for SRB2 characters; monitors and Chaos Emeralds appear in randomized spots in each area. Sonic and Knuckles can turn Super with all seven emeralds and 50 rings. Tails can carry a teammate.
Each player can choose an SRB2 or Mario camera. The HUD follows your character; sprites have depth in the 3D scene. Sonic can break Mario's boxes with a spin and jump, attack adapted bosses, and free Chain Chomp after three hits to open the star gate. Underwater, press jump to swim up: you have 30 seconds of air, with the original drowning warning appearing in the final seconds.
Keyboard Controls
Movement and ability keys are read from your SRB2 configuration. With the configuration used in this version:
/chaos sonic, /chaos tails, /chaos knuckles or /chaos mario to choose a character directly. The special End/Home/Page Down/Delete bindings follow your Coop DX control profile; if you've already remapped them, use their corresponding keys. When playing as a Mario character, your native Coop DX controls apply.
Controller
Use the buttons configured in Coop DX. D-pad down switches characters; up activates Super; right switches cameras; left, while Tails is flying, picks up a teammate. To spindash, hold Z, tap B, and release Z. A jumps and lets the passenger get off. The host can use /chaos misturar sim or /chaos misturar nao to allow or restrict mixing the crews.
How to Play
You need Super Mario 64 Coop DX 1.5.1 for Windows x64, in a compatible build, and Sonic Robo Blast 2 2.2.15 for Windows installed. SRB2 characters, images, and sounds are loaded from your own installation; game content isn't included in the download. Coop DX is the game you launch, and SRB2 is a required companion. Co-op uses native multiplayer; the game limit is 16 players. The connection and functionality were tested with two copies on this PC, but not between PCs over the internet.
This is an early version to try out. Not every level and encounter has been checked individually; it doesn't include SRB2 levels or all of its characters, abilities, and shields. The SCORE tally still stays at zero.
