ARK Days

ARK Days brings ARK: Survival Evolved's dinosaurs into 7 Days to Die. Tame them ARK-style and fight the undead together, or run from the T-Rex.

The dinos

• You start with a tamed Dodo that follows you from the first minute.
• Real ARK models, textures, animations and voices, read from your own ARK install. The T-Rex roars when it spots you, and you can hear it stomping before you see it.
• A living world: native bears, wolves and coyotes hunt dinos. Zombies go after your tames, and wild Raptors and T-Rexes will too. Your tames fight back.
• Rare T-Rex: at most one per area, re-rolled only every 10 in-game days. Raptors also join some blood-moon hordes, rarely.

Taming (ARK-style)

1. Knock it out: shoot it with Tranquilizer Darts (they load into any bow or crossbow). Each hit adds torpor and stings for only 3 damage. When torpor is full, it collapses.
   • Darts needed: Dodo about 2, Dilophosaur 4, Raptor 7, T-Rex 20.
2. Feed it while it's down: look at it and press Interact (E). It eats the right food straight from your inventory. Feed Narcotics or Narcoberries to keep it asleep longer.
   • Feedings to tame: Dodo 3, Dilophosaur 5, Raptor 10 (2 meat each), T-Rex 20 (5 meat each).
   • If it wakes up first, taming starts over.
3. It's yours: press Interact on it to switch Follow / Stay / Guard, or use a Tame Whistle to switch every tame you own within 60 m. Tames fight zombies and hostile animals and never attack players.

Open the console with F1 (you need admin rights; the host of a game has them).

In giveself, the 1 is the quality level the game expects. The last number is how many you get.

Remix it

ARK Days is open: anyone is welcome to add dinos, patch it up or build on it under CC BY 4.0 (credit "ARK Days by dadammoose"). Adding a ground dino is mostly one row of data; the converter, hit boxes, animations, sounds and taming pick it up automatically.

How it works

No ARK files are included. On first launch, a small bundled converter (ArkBridge, built on the open-source CUE4Parse) reads the dinos, sounds and item icons from your ARK: Survival Evolved folder. It saves a converted cache in your own 7 Days to Die user folder (%APPDATA%\7DaysToDie\ArkDays). This takes a few seconds, and only happens again after an update.

Requirements

• 7 Days to Die (V3.x) and ARK: Survival Evolved, both installed.
• 7DTD runs without EasyAntiCheat, which is required for code mods. Melty starts it that way for you.
• Co-op works with up to 8 players. Every player needs both games.
