The Forest's Destiny

You survived the crash. So did your Ghost.

The Forest's Destiny puts a Destiny 2 Guardian on The Forest's peninsula. You play The Forest as usual (build, survive, find your son), but you have the Light.

• Pick your Guardian: Hunter, Titan or Warlock, on Solar, Arc, Void, Stasis or Strand: all 15 subclasses.
• Build your subclass: choose from each subclass's real Supers, grenades, melees, class abilities and jumps (166 abilities). Every name, icon and description is read from your own Destiny 2.
• Loot Destiny 2 weapons and fire them: 132 real weapons in 14 types, from hand cannons and shotguns to snipers, rocket launchers and swords. They come in five tiers from Common to Exotic. Cannibals drop weapon engrams whose tier rises the longer you survive, so you work your way up instead of starting with the best, and every drop rolls a little differently. Special and heavy ammo drops as bricks.
• Destiny-style HUD: Super and abilities, your three weapons with ammo, health and overshield, and damage numbers that turn yellow on headshots.
• Light against the cannibals: scorch and ignite them, jolt, freeze and shatter, suspend, weaken and blind. Solar sets them ablaze with The Forest's own fire.
• Your Ghost talks in its own Destiny 2 voice ("Guardian. Eyes up.") and revives you where you fall instead of the cannibals dragging you off (90 s cooldown).
• Exotics: exotic engrams give weapons such as Ace of Spades, Gjallarhorn, Thorn or Sunshot. Their perks also change how your Forest weapons hit.
• Co-op: up to 8 Guardians in The Forest's own multiplayer. Every player needs the mod.

Join through the game: the host picks Multiplayer > Host Game > New Game, unticks Private and presses Create Lobby, then Start Game. Friends pick Multiplayer > Join Game and choose the host's lobby, or accept the host's Steam invite.

Controls: K subclass and weapons screen · X grenade · V melee · Left Alt class ability · B Super · Space in mid-air for your jump · 5 / 6 / 7 draw Kinetic / Energy / Power weapon · left mouse fire · right mouse aim · R reload. You can change them in BepInEx/config.

Needs Destiny 2 installed: the names, icons, lore and the Ghost's voice are read from your own copy while the game loads (about 10 seconds, in memory). Destiny 2 is never started, changed or connected to, and nothing from either game is in the download. Ability effects use The Forest's own fire and explosions plus element-coloured light. 3D models for weapons and your Ghost are coming in a later update.
