Play the original FINAL FANTASY (Pixel Remaster) with the other five Pixel Remasters mixed in. You need all six games installed. Everything from them is read from your own copies when you play.
The big changes
- 60 heroes from FF II to VI. Build your party from the main casts and guests of five other games, each playing by their own game's rules.
- Every item and piece of gear from FF II to VI. About 660 new items in shops, drops and steals, rescaled to FF1.
- 20 Legends from other worlds. The greatest bosses of FF II to VI stand in FF1's late dungeons as optional fights with their own music and best gear.
- New: the Final Trial. Beat all 20 Legends and face FF IV's four Elemental Lords, the mirror of FF1's Four Fiends, back to back. The prize is FF1's own Masamune and Ribbon.
- Mixed monsters, every enemy. Each enemy in a battle can come from any of the six games, matched to the area and its level.
- Fresh music everywhere. Random battles and boss fights draw from all six games' battle themes. Every town and dungeon has a theme of its own from the other games. Chaos always gets FF1's final boss music.
- Hard mode. Talk to the Seeker of Challenge in Cornelia to turn it on or off at any time. Monsters and Legends get stronger and hit harder, and leave more gil, EXP and treasure.
- The Chronicler of Worlds. He stands in Cornelia and keeps your record of the Legends, dungeon by dungeon. He offers the Final Trial, and he lets you choose which Esper each FF VI hero carries.
- Esper level-up bonuses. As in FF VI, each FF VI hero gains their Magicite's bonus (Magic, Strength, Stamina, Speed, HP or MP) at every level.
The Cast
At New Game, flip the class pages to choose from 60 heroes of FF II to VI, main cast and guests. Pick any four. Each brings their own sprites, stats, commands and growth:
- FF II: no levels. HP, MP, stats, weapon skills and spells grow from what each hero does in battle. The status screen shows MP instead of levels, and the results screen gives each hero's growth a page of its own.
- FF III and FF V: jobs unlock as you light FF1's crystals. Change jobs after resting at an inn.
- FF IV: spells by level, Rydia's summons, Edge's Ninjutsu and more.
- FF VI: Blitz with its real button combos, Bushido, Mog's Dances, Strago's Lores, Gau's Rages, and Magicite that teaches spells and gives Esper bonuses.
The Armory
Every consumable, weapon and armor from FF II to VI, rescaled to FF1's numbers. Each hero wears what fits their kind and their own game's rules. Shops sell them town by town. Monsters from every game drop and carry what suits them, Magicite included. FF1's bosses leave legendary gear. FF1's own treasure chests are unchanged.
Legends from other worlds
The Emperor, the Cloud of Darkness, Golbez, Zeromus, Gilgamesh, Omega, Shinryu, Neo Exdeath, Kefka and more wait in FF1's last dungeons. Talk to one to challenge it. Each fights with its own art and its own battle music, and leaves its game's best gear as the prize.
Crystal Bond
A battle command that calls a legend from another world: 115 calls, from Chocobo to Bahamut, Odin and Ultima, each with its own game's effects and sound. FF II heroes' calls grow with their stats.
Solo. The first Play takes a minute or two to set itself up and needs the internet that one time.
