R.E.P.O. in Minecraft. You arrive by truck in a R.E.P.O. level built from Minecraft blocks. Find R.E.P.O.'s real loot, carry it to the extraction points without breaking it, meet the quota before its monsters get you, then spend the haul at R.E.P.O.'s Service Station and drive on to the next, bigger level.
New in 0.4.0: the big hunters
Five more of R.E.P.O.'s monsters, with their own models and sounds from your R.E.P.O. They ramp in like in R.E.P.O.: none on level 1, then more and more of them as the levels get bigger.
- Robe (from level 3): drifts in the dark cracking its fingers. When it sees you it stops and stares, then glides after you and strikes hard, again and again, until you get away.
- Reaper (from level 2): rushes at every noise. When it sees you it runs you down almost as fast as you sprint and slashes in a frenzy with both scythes.
- Trudge (from level 4): huge and slow, dragging its mace. Up close, its implosion pulls everyone in sight (and the loose loot) toward it, then the mace comes down. Sprint away while it builds up.
- Clown (from level 3): laughs, its eyes charge, and its laser sweeps after you, burning players and loot up to the first wall. Strafe to dodge it; get too close and it kicks you away.
- Bowtie (from level 2): screams a gale that blows you back, tears the loot out of your grab beam and sends loose loot flying.
Death heads and revives (0.3.0)
Die and your semibot's head drops (R.E.P.O.'s own death-head model). You watch from inside it, wherever it goes, and it glows dimly so your crew can find it in the dark. Friends grab it with the grab beam and carry it into the truck or onto the active extraction point, and you come back right there with a little health. Heads nobody brings back return with everyone on the next level. If the whole crew dies, the run is over.
The Service Station (0.2.0)
After every level the truck stops at R.E.P.O.'s shop. Its shelves hold R.E.P.O.'s own items, with their own models and R.E.P.O. prices. Carry what you want onto the counter and leave it there: it's bought with the crew's cash. Sneak + right-click a bought item to use it, or to take it into your hotbar.
- Upgrades for the rest of the run: Health, Strength, Sprint Speed, Range and Extra Jump.
- Health packs: small, medium and large.
- Weapons: Frying Pan, Baseball Bat, Sword and Sledge Hammer (they wear out), plus the Gun and the Shotgun.
- Grenades and mines: explosive, stun and shockwave. Mines go off when a monster steps close.
- Items you don't use ride the truck to the next level; whatever is left behind in a level is lost.
What you get
- R.E.P.O.'s run loop. Every level has a quota. Extraction points wake up one after another: put loot on the active pad, the alarm counts down, the tube slams and the haul is yours. Quota met, everyone back in the truck, press the button, get paid, shop, next level.
- Four R.E.P.O. levels, generated. Headman Manor, Swiftbroom Academy, McJannek Station and the Museum of Human Art, as a new layout of dark rooms every level.
- R.E.P.O.'s real loot. 158 valuables with R.E.P.O.'s own models, values, fragility, durability and mass. Every knock costs money, and at $0 it's gone.
- The grab beam. Hold use to lift loot, swing to throw it. Heavy loot slows you down, and friends can carry it together.
- Eight of R.E.P.O.'s monsters. The five big hunters above, plus the Headman, who screams and chases you down for a bite; the blind Huntsman, who fires at every noise; and Gnomes, who chip your loot with their pickaxes. Fight back with the shop's weapons, grenades and mines.
- R.E.P.O.'s sounds and music, from the extraction alarm to every monster's voice and every valuable's impacts.
- Your semibot's flashlight, and no natural healing: the truck patches you up at each new level, health packs in between.
- Co-op for up to 6 players. Your run opens to friends by itself: they join from Melty with one click (relayed by e4mc, no port forwarding). Cash is shared; upgrades are each player's own.
You need
- Minecraft: Java Edition (sign in to the bundled launcher once with the Microsoft account that owns it)
- R.E.P.O. on Steam. Nothing from R.E.P.O. is included: its models, textures, values and sounds are read from your own copy into a private pack on your PC.
Playing
Press Play, then R.E.P.O. Run on Minecraft's title screen. Hold right-click on loot (or a friend's head) to grab it, let go to drop it, left-click while holding to throw it. In the shop, carry items onto the counter to buy them; sneak + right-click a bought item to use or take it.
