Plants vs. Zombies' whole Adventure, played on foot in Minecraft: the Day, the Night, the Pool, the Fog and the Roof. Crazy Dave's front lawn, the backyard pool behind his house and his roof become real PvZ lawns. Collect sun, plant from seed packets in your hotbar, wade into the pool, walk into the fog, climb up to the roof, and hold off PvZ's zombies from 1-1 to Dr. Zomboss at 5-10. Beat him for the Silver Sunflower and PvZ's credits, its music video to "Zombies on Your Lawn". Along the way you get Wall-nut Bowling, Whack-a-Zombie, Big Trouble Little Zombie, Vasebreaker, the stormy night, Bungee Blitz, six conveyor belts and Crazy Dave's shop. From 3-2 on, PvZ's 20 mini-games open, and from 4-6 its Puzzle mode. Play alone, or with up to three friends on your lawn.
Everything from PvZ comes from your own copy of Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year:
- the plants and zombies, with their real animations;
- Crazy Dave's lines and voice, the sounds, and the Suburban Almanac;
- Grasswalk, Moongrains, Watery Graves, Rigor Mormist, Graze the Roof, Brainiac Maniac and more, from the game's own music file;
- the Mini-games screen and the credits' music video, from the game's own pictures, animations and fonts.
Costs, recharge times, wave counts, zombie mixes, coin drops and shop prices are PvZ's own numbers.
- The Mini-games (new): a present in 3-2 puts the Mini-games sign by the house. Right-click it for PvZ's Mini-games screen. ZomBotany, Wall-nut Bowling and Slot the Zombie open first; after the Adventure each trophy opens the next, up to Dr. Zomboss's Revenge. ZomBotany's plant-headed zombies shoot back, burn rows and squash plants. Slot the Zombie's handle spins its reels. In Beghouled you swap plants to match three, in Twist you turn four at a time. Zombiquarium has a tank of Snorkel Zombies to feed with brains. Portal Combat's portals send zombies, peas and mowers across the lawn. There's also It's Raining Seeds, Seeing Stars, Last Stand, Wall-nut Bowling 2's Giant Wall-nut, Zombie Nimble Zombie Quick, Invisighoul, Bobsled Bonanza, Column Like You See 'Em, Pogo Party and more.
- Co-op, up to 4 players: press Play and friends join you from Melty, straight onto your lawn. The team shares one sun bank, like one big PvZ player. Everyone picks their own seeds and keeps their own money for Dave's shop, and the waves grow with the team. A team panel shows everyone's packets.
- The Roof: climb the ladder up Crazy Dave's house to a five-row lawn of PvZ's roof tiles. Its left five columns are PvZ's slope, a half block a step. Every plant goes into a Flower Pot. Peas from low on the slope splat on the rising roof, as in PvZ, so lob over it with the pults. The Catapult Zombie lobs basketballs at your plants, and Bungee Zombies drop zombies onto the roof.
- Dr. Zomboss (5-10): his robot towers over the end of the roof. He stomps, drops his RV on your plants, calls in zombies and bungees, and lowers his head to spit fire and ice balls. Hit his head while it's down.
- Puzzle mode: right-click the Puzzle sign by the house for PvZ's Puzzle screen, with Vasebreaker 1-9, I, Zombie 1-9 and both Endless puzzles. Each beaten puzzle gives a trophy and opens the next.
- I, Zombie: you send the zombies in. Hold a zombie card and right-click a tile right of the red line. Your zombies' sun comes from the cardboard Sunflowers they eat. Get to all five brains to win, and keep out of the plants' rows: they shoot you too.
- Two lawns: on Pool and Fog levels zombies come across the meadow into the backyard and up the street onto the front lawn at the same time. Walk through the house between them.
- The Fog: a fog bank over the right of the night backyard hides the zombies in it. Walk in and you see a block or two. Planterns light it up, and a Blover blows it away for a while.
- Crazy Dave's Twiddydinkies: find his car key and his car is parked by the house with his wares on stands. Spend the coins zombies drop on extra seed slots, pool cleaners, Roof Cleaners, the rake, Wall-nut First Aid, and the upgrade plants Gatling Pea, Twin Sunflower, Gloom-shroom, Cattail, Spikerock, Gold Magnet, Winter Melon and Cob Cannon. He pitches whatever you look at. He'll also buy your taco.
- 49 plants: the Day's 8, the Night's mushrooms (asleep by day), the Pool's 9, the Fog's 8, the Roof's 7 (from the Flower Pot and Coffee Bean to the Melon-pult), Dave's 8 upgrades, and the puzzles' Leftpeater.
- 32 zombies, including the Snorkel Zombie, the Zomboni and its ice, the Dolphin Rider, the Balloon Zombie, the Digger, the Pogo Zombie, the Gargantuar and Imp, the Bungee Zombie, the Catapult Zombie, Dr. Zomboss and ZomBotany's six. Also lawn mowers, huge waves and the final wave.
- The Pool: its two middle rows are Minecraft water you wade into, waist deep. Plant Lily Pads, put land plants on them, and watch zombies paddle in on ducky tubes.
- The Trash Can Zombie: the mashup's own addition, from PvZ's later editions. His dented can is drawn from your copy's own art.
- Controls: right-click a tile with a seed packet to plant, or with a zombie card in I, Zombie. Hit the sun and coins or walk into them. Swing the shovel at zombies (they'll bite you if you're in their way) and at vases. Right-click a stand twice to buy. Use a ready Cob Cannon, then use the spot where its cob should land. In the mini-games, use their own items from your hotbar (the slot machine's handle, a brain, Last Stand's flag), and in Beghouled hit the plants.
- The Suburban Almanac after 2-4: press J.
- Up to 4 players. Each friend needs their own Minecraft and Plants vs. Zombies.
Needs: Minecraft: Java Edition and Plants vs. Zombies: Game of the Year (Steam). Melty sets up Minecraft for you; click Start Adventure on its title screen. A world from an earlier version carries on where you left it.
