Mine Outer Wilds' planets for real Minecraft blocks and build what you can before the sun explodes.
Press B in Outer Wilds and Minecraft's hotbar appears. Hold left mouse to mine the planet under your feet and right mouse to place real, solid Minecraft blocks: build a bridge over Brittle Hollow's gaps, a tower on Timber Hearth, or a shelter on Ash Twin before the sand rises.
Every world gives its own blocks
Blocks snap to a grid, ride the planet (or your ship) they're built on, and break again with Minecraft's crack animation and sounds.
The loop always wins. When the sun goes supernova, or you die, every block you placed and everything in your hotbar is gone. Each loop starts empty.
Both games, really: the block textures, HUD, font and sounds are read from your own Minecraft: Java Edition install (any release from 1.17 on that you've played once). Nothing from either game is shipped. Solo.
Controls: B toggles build mode. Hold left mouse to mine or break, right mouse to place, and 1-9 or the mouse wheel to pick a slot.
