A Stellaris x Stacklands mashup: grow a star empire one card at a time, meet rival empires, research a randomised tech tree and beat the endgame crisis, with real art from both games you own.
What you do
Found your empire. Pick one of 3 species (Agrarian, Lithoid or Avian, each with its own traits) and an ethic (Militarist, Spiritualist, Materialist or Gestalt Consciousness); each changes your start and gives you a free booster pack.
Work your worlds. Stack Pops on your Homeworld, districts and planets to fill a shared pool of Energy, Minerals, Food, Alloys and Research. Feed everyone each moon, and pay Energy upkeep for fleets and buildings.
Grow. Two Pops on a City District make a Baby that grows up. Survey star systems, claim and colonise them; colonies keep producing on their own.
Research. Blueprints come from packs at random and need lower tiers first: ships, weapons, shields, armour, terraforming, district upgrades and megastructures. After 12 blueprints, infinite research opens.
Build a fleet. Queue ships at the Shipyard, fit and refit components, and give stacks an Admiral. Every fleet shows its strength and every raider its threat.
Rival empires. Send an Envoy to make contact, gather intel level by level, trade, sabotage their fleets, answer their tribute demands and deals, or declare war with a war goal and invade their systems.
Survive. Pirates raid, Guardians wait in Act 2, and an endgame crisis comes through a rift in Act 3. Win, then keep playing endlessly if you like.
Learn as you go. A tutorial with highlights walks you through it. Four difficulties, four moon lengths, save and load.
Both games, really in it
Every picture and name comes from your own Stellaris (ship, planet and resource paintings, icons, official names). Card frames, pack art, sounds, music and the font come from your own Stacklands. Neither game's files are included: Grand Galactic reads them from your PC each time it runs.
You need
Stellaris and Stacklands, installed through Steam. Melty starts Grand Galactic from both.
