Five Nights at Freddy's animatronics are loose in Lethal Company, hunting the crew by their FNAF rules, and there's a new moon: 87 Fazbear, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza itself.
What you get
- Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy are there from the moment you land, switched off (heads down, eyes dark), and boot up one by one as the day goes on: nothing before 11 AM, then one hider, the other hider a while later, then the two runners one after the other. They are 3D animatronics towering over your crew, walking like heavy, broken machines.
- The day builds: docile in the morning (slower, shorter senses, more patient), fierce by the evening.
- They have to find you: they roam until one senses a player within 20 m, sees one in front of it or hears your noise (footsteps, sprinting, falls, dropped items; crouching is quiet).
- Hiders (Freddy and Chica) work two ways. In stealth they make no sound and do everything to stay unfound: out of your line of sight, working their way round behind you, stalking you for a long while and striking when you turn away. In distraction they make all the noise they can (Freddy's laugh, Chica's pots) and let you see them, at a sneaky distance.
- Runners (Bonnie and Foxy) make their move the moment they sense or see you, whenever someone looks at them, and whenever a hider has you distracted. The beam of a flashlight held in your hand sends them at least 90 m away to hide.
- Stun them: any weapon hit stuns an animatronic for 3 seconds, and so does a flashlight beam on a hider. It stops dead with FNAF's power-down sound and can't be stunned again for 5 seconds after. A flash that works costs the flashlight 5% of its battery (10% if it isn't a Pro-flashlight).
- Clunky but deadly: a hit is a bite. The first wounds you; the one that would kill plays that animatronic's full-screen FNAF jumpscare and scream.
- Freddy's mask: exactly one lies somewhere inside every level, made from Freddy's own head, worth 30 to 39. Left-click to put it on or take it off. While you wear it no animatronic sees, hears or bites you, and none wants to be near you: they go after someone else. You look out through its eye holes and your crew see Freddy's head on you, but you can't carry anything else (putting it on drops all but your flashlights).
- The bestiary: scan an animatronic and it is filed in the ship's terminal. Type
BESTIARY, then FREDDY, BONNIE, CHICA or FOXY, to read what each one is and how it behaves.
- FNAF scrap to sell: Chica's cupcake (worth 20 to 39, as common as an egg beater) and Freddy's microphone (worth 30 to 47, rarer; hold left-click to hold it out like you're interviewing someone).
- They open doors (not locked ones), and their real FNAF sounds give them away. Phone Guy calls the ship on each landing (nights 1 to 5).
- Co-op for crews of up to 4, and solo works too.
New moon: 87 Fazbear (ROUTE FAZBEAR in the terminal, free)
- Land in a big parking lot in a small town, with Freddy Fazbear's Pizza at the far end and the classic Fredbear's Family Diner sign on its roof. Go in through its glass front doors.
- You always come in to the Party Room, its tables right in front of the raised, lit show stage where Freddy, Bonnie and Chica stand switched off; Foxy waits behind the curtains of Pirate Cove. The other 17 to 23 rooms are different every day, drawn from the FNAF 1 pizzeria with its real furniture, and always include the Security Office.
- The Security Office's doorways have FNAF 1's steel doors (closed for 10 seconds, then 3 seconds before they close again, with a countdown over each) and its desk has a radar screen like the ship's.
- The animatronics show up as red dots on the radar, on the ship's monitor and in the Security Office.
- It plays by Lethal Company's rules: wooden doors (some locked), loot to sell, lights that go out if the power is cut, and Experimentation's weather and outside monsters.
You need Lethal Company and Five Nights at Freddy's (the original). Every player needs their own FNAF: its jumpscares, sounds and calls are read from your copy while you play, and nothing from either game is included.
Not in this version: Golden Freddy, the power meter and music-box blackout, the 6 AM chime, a night-guard role.
