Just wanted to get a pretty good version out and see what people thought if u have feedback or there happen to be bugs or crashes and have suggestions I’m all ears leave a review and let me know.
Cuphead, played as Steve from Minecraft.
You need your own Cuphead (Steam) and Minecraft: Java Edition. Steve, the mobs, the blocks, the items and the sounds are read from your own Minecraft while Cuphead runs, so nothing from either game is in the download.
What you get
- Steve instead of Cuphead in boss fights, run-and-gun levels, flying levels and on the world map, built from your Minecraft's own Steve skin. Cuphead's rules are untouched: 3 HP, parry, dash, EX and supers. Losing a heart is the old Minecraft "oof".
- Building. A Minecraft hotbar with cobblestone: place blocks to stand on, bridge in mid-air or hide behind. A block soaks up three enemy shots and crumbles after ten seconds; you can have six out at once.
- Spawn eggs. Zombie, skeleton and creeper eggs hatch friendly mobs that only go for the boss and other enemies, never for you. Each has 2 HP (the hearts over its head), so they help without winning the fight for you.
- Zombie: walks up and hits. Skeleton: keeps its distance and shoots arrows. Creeper: walks up and explodes, once.
- Minecraft weapons in the shop, at Cuphead's prices, doing what the Cuphead weapons they replace do. Shots end in Minecraft particles instead of Cuphead's coloured sparks.
- Bow: arrows. EX: one big arrow trailing critical-hit particles.
- Crossbow: a spread of arrows. EX: eight big arrows flying out all round with firework sparks.
- Eye of Ender: homing eyes. EX: eyes of ender circling Steve.
- TNT: lobbed blocks that explode. EX: one big block with a smoking fuse and a big explosion.
- Diamond axe: Steve takes it back over his head while it charges, then throws it. EX: sweep arcs and critical hits.
- Trident: goes out and comes back, turning to point the way it is going. EX: a spinning turtle.
- Minecraft charms: golden apple, enchanted golden apple, bottle o' enchanting, ender pearl (the dash leaves and arrives in purple portal particles), sugar and flint.
- Minecraft supers. They do what Cuphead's Super Arts do, acted out by Steve:
- Water Bucket (Super Art I): Steve empties a bucket and the flood is the beam, with a pufferfish riding it.
- Totem of Undying (Super Art II): a totem pops and Steve is in diamond armor while he is invincible. The armor comes off piece by piece as it runs out.
- Bee Nest (Super Art III): a tree springs up, Steve breaks the nest on it, and the buzzing bees swarm the enemy.
- Golden apples for the super meter. The five cards are golden apples; when all five are full they turn into enchanted golden apples.
- A villager keeps the shop where Porkrind stood, and emeralds are the money.
- Flying levels. Steve glides on an elytra where Cuphead flew his plane.
- The peashooter throws chicken eggs. Each egg has a 1 in 1,000,000 chance of hatching a baby chicken that then stays with Steve for good.
- The bombs are blocks of TNT that explode on impact. The mini plane throws small ones.
- The peashooter's EX is a chest that keeps snapping open and shut; the bombs' EX is homing shulker bullets.
- The super: Steve rides a pig with a carrot on a stick. It blows up the moment it touches an enemy, and the pig is blown away.
- Two players on one PC, the way Cuphead's own co-op works: player two is Alex, with her own hotbar. HAS TO BE SAME PC
Controls
Cuphead's own controls, plus these for the hotbar (any one of the keys or buttons in a row works):
| | Keyboard and mouse | Controller |
|---|---|---|
| Place block / throw spawn egg | F, right mouse button, Right Ctrl or numpad 0 | Right trigger or right stick click |
| Next hotbar slot | E, Page Down or mouse wheel down | Left trigger, left stick click or right stick to the right |
| Previous hotbar slot | Q, Page Up or mouse wheel up | Right stick to the left |
| Pick a slot directly | 1, 2, 3, 4 (top row or numpad) | |
Blocks go in front of you when you stand, one higher when you aim up, and under your feet when you are in the air or ducking.
Playing together
Local co-op on one PC and one screen: with the game running, player two presses a button on a second controller and joins as Alex. There is no online play.
Not changed in this version
Cutscenes, the title screen, the result screens and the DLC (Ms. Chalice, the DLC shop and weapons) still show Cuphead's own art.
Needs
- Cuphead on Steam (Windows).
- Minecraft: Java Edition with a version from 1.20.2 on downloaded in the official launcher (start it once).
