Command twenty troops, shape your army, and capture a fantasy battlefield in 2v2 Minecraft.
Lead your own fantasy army in Minecraft: Java Edition. Two teams of two commanders fight over three domination points, with up to twenty troops under each player's command.
The Dawn Covenant's knights, rangers and Sunweavers face the Dusk Legion's revenants, bone archers and Gravecallers. Fight alongside your squad, order an Attack or Rush, recall troops to Follow, Move them to a position or tell them to Hold. Press R for the command screen, with Block, Line, Wedge and Loose formations along the bottom.
Battle across a custom landscape of hills, valleys, woods and a winding river with three bridges. Capture the Old Village, Shattered Keep and River Shrine; holding ground earns points toward a 300-point victory. Friendly fire is off, and defeated commanders return after twelve seconds.
Visit your faction's barracks to buy and train every troop type, queue replacements, cancel training for a refund, disband units and change your army's composition. You start with twenty troops and 160 gold; holding points and defeating enemies earn more. Lost troops need to be replaced through training. The twenty-troop limit includes queued recruits.
Press M or click the R screen's map card to expand the whole battlefield. See friendly troop positions and which are fighting, and click their markers to inspect them. G attacks at your aim, V recalls your squad and B cycles formations; keys can be rebound in Minecraft's Controls menu.
Multiplayer: up to four players, two per faction. One player hosts and stays in game; friends join through Melty. Every client uses the same release, with no separate server download. Melty's relay handles connections on supported networks. Host-and-join testing used two copies on one PC; Internet play has not been independently tested.
Requires an account owning Minecraft: Java Edition. Built for Minecraft 1.20.1 with Fabric; Melty handles the game and loader. Roblox's Command an Army is inspiration only: Roblox is not required and no Roblox assets are included.
Verified with repeated local troop, terrain, formation, combat and barracks checks, a two-client local join, visual inspection of screens and landmarks, and two passing four-minute Melty installation tests.
Credits: concept and direction by this project's creator; implementation and original Dawn skin assisted by OpenAI Codex using Melty's modding kit. Fabric API by FabricMC contributors, bundled under Apache-2.0. Minecraft content comes from each player's game and is not included.
